    About DESA

  DESA Antiques and Works of Art Ltd has been dealing in antiques and fine art since it took over from the Polish oldest antiques dealer company - the state-owned enterprise "P.P. DESA", founded in 1950. The firm offers a wide range of services: prepares appraisals, purchases and sells works of art, preserves high quality works of art for the museumcollections, organises art exhibitions, promotes the work of Polish contemporary artist and designers.

The company's premisiesare located in the 14c palace of Kmita family at 13 Floria?ska Street in Cracow. DESA has opened antiques shops and galleries in all Polish major cities and operates an auction house in Cracow.



    Cooperation in Poland and abroad

  The firm cooperates with other Polish auction houses and renowned auctioneers abroad: Dorotheum, NAgel, Drout, Lempertz and Spinck. It participates in the 'Leonardo da Vinci' project - an interactive European programme incorporating academic circles, business companies and sponsoring institutions.

DESA has been listed by theEuropean Union as a reliable firm and partner.



    Staff

  The company has a highly qualified znd experienced staff of specialists and court experts. They prepare appraisals of painting and sculpture, decorative arts, jewellery and collectibes for insurance and ither purposes. Appraisals are commissioned by the court, banks, institutions and also by private clients who attempt to obtain an export licence from the Ministry of Culture and NationalHeritage. More complex appraisals are consulted with the museum curators and specialists.
